CYBERBULLYING
Recent issues have lead society to debate what the appropriate punishment is for cyberbullies whose goal is to publicly tear down their victims, and whether their malicious offenses are punishable by law. Proponents for legal action against cyberbullies believe that the bullies should be held responsible for their deliberate acts as well as the effects that follow. Those who oppose legal ramifications for cyberbullying suggest that the bullies' actions are protected under their first amendment right to free speech and they should not be held accountable for how the victim chooses to respond.
